Thank you all who attended and supported our fundraiser at the Great Sacandaga Brewing company on Saturday, June 17th 2023. Even though it rained, it was still an incredible event. A heartfelt thank you to Great Sacandaga Brewing Company hosting this event for us and brewing Legacy Pale Ale for Veterans and our cause. The food was delicious from both Montes Concessions and Big D’s Meats BBQ! The live music by The Schmooze was awesome, you guys rock! We raised $4,695 for our cause!

On Saturday, July 8th 2023 CRVM posted up from 12pm-2pm at the John A. Baird Memorial VFW Post 8690 in Broadalbin (19 Pine
St, Broadalbin NY) for their Combat Veterans Motorcycle Ride gathering. We raised awareness of the project and spread the word that our memorial encompasses the 11 counties of the capital region. The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association is an Association of Combat Veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces who ride motorcycles as a hobby. As a registered 501(c)(19) veterans’ charity, their mission is to support and protect those who have defended our country and our freedoms. Their focus is to provide assistance and help to individual veterans, veteran care facilities, other veteran organizations and registered charities. They sponsor and participate in many veteran-related motorcycle (and other) charity events each year, and as a non-profit organization, donate to various veteran causes. Visit their website at https://www.combatvet.us

*RECAP* Team members went to the Schenectady YWCA on May 3rd, 2023 to present an overview of the CRVM Project to Congressman Paul Tonko. Congressman Tonko selected the CRVM as one of 4 organizations to potentially receive a grant of $168,000! We are truly grateful! A special shoutout to Supervisor Chris Koetzle for pushing forward with us and staying driven to make this become a reality for not only our region, but for New York State.

The Capital Region Veterans Memorial is conducting a memorial paver (brick) campaign to raise funds for “The Legacy Project” Park located in Glenville, New York (Route 50 and Dutch Meadow Road). CRVM, working with Gift Bricks®, will offer two brick sizes for purchase during this campaign fundraiser: 4” X 8” and 8” X 8”. Each brick is sandblasted with a method of engraving that engraves a 1/8” to 3/16” depth into the brick. The engraved surface is then filled with black epoxy. Each engraved brick(s) will be placed in proximity to one of seven war memorial statues to be erected in the park and will be a lasting tribute that honors a Veterans service. Brick Pavers can be purchased by completing a Brick Order Form and paying by check which should be made payable to Capital Region Veterans Memorial (CRVM) Brick Pavers can also be purchased at https://donationbricks.com/capitalregionveteransmemorial
Brick pavers are ordered and then placed along the Legacy Project walkway in proximity to one of seven memorial statues
We will do our best to accommodate and fit all bricks that are purchased to each service members respective campaign memorial

“Our goal is to honor our regions fallen while creating an environment in which Veterans and their families can share their experiences, share their emotions, and feel that they are not alone.”
