Legacy’s Latest Volume 1 Issue 1 March 2023

Happy 2023! We are excited for this upcoming year and the future of the Capital Region Veterans Memorial!

Recent Success. The results are in! Our display for Schenectady’s IlluminoCity event hosted by The Law Office of Kathleen M. Toombs won second place for most creative! Our sincerest thanks to Kathleen and all those who voted for us and our remarkable display.

The fundraising event at Max 410 at The Waters Edge (formerly Waters Edge Lighthouse) on Saturday, January 28th from 4-8PM was a huge success! Thank you to all those who attended, donated, and learned more about the project and what we wish to accomplish! We are humbled and more driven than ever to make this a reality for our region.

MOHAWK HONDA hosted a pizza and wing contest fundraiser for the Capital Region Veterans Memorial project on February 9th.  Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle welcomed all attendees and was the Official Maitre D for the evening.  It was a sold-out event!  The winner of the Pizza contest was Pizza Works and for the Wings contest, Mohawk Taproom. Kudos to all!  But the real winner was the Capital Region Veterans Memorial Legacy Project. The town really came out to support this project!  Everyone is backing the Veterans!

The Capital Region Veterans Memorial is conducting a memorial paver (brick) campaign to raise funds for “The Legacy Project” Park located in Glenville, New York (Route 50 and Dutch Meadow Road).
CRVM, working with Gift Bricks®, will offer two brick sizes for purchase during this campaign fundraiser: 4” X 8” and 8” X 8”. Each brick is sandblasted with a method of engraving that engraves a 1/8” to 3/16” depth into the brick.
The engraved surface is then filled with black epoxy. Each engraved brick(s) will be placed in proximity to one of seven war memorial statues to be erected in the park and will be a lasting tribute that honors a Veterans service.
